Roots Football started in 2009, is the grass-roots initiative of Game on Sports to provide professional training in football. Roots Football is among the top 5 non-residential AIFF accredited football academies in India.
Roots Football is founded on the basis of focusing primarily on the player’s overall development as a complete football player with good sporting spirit and develop a positive approach towards the game of football.
Over 30 of our trainees have gone on to represent ISL, I-League, national and state teams. Roots FC competes at the highest league of Bangalore/Karnataka football - the Super Division League where our men and women players are competing, thereby giving a pathway for all our academy players to professional football. We also participate in the national & KSFA Youth Leagues.
Our coaching team includes AFC certified coaches, ex TFA cadets and former State, National and International level players with over 100 years of combined grassroots coaching experience. The coaching team also brings in previous experiences from media, finance, education and other varied fields to give a multidimensional approach to coaching. The coaching team is supported by specialised physiotherapists, performance trainers and sports psychologist.
Roots FS is managed by a team of professionals who have been in the sports industry for more than a decade and bring varied experiences from sports management, media, technology, business consulting and analytics. The educational background varies from arts and humanities to engineering and management from premier Indian universities like NIT’s and IIM’s.
